Privacy Policy
Perchi ("we", "us", "our") operates the voice room platform at perchi.net. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account data: When you sign in with Google or email, we store your name, email address, and profile picture. This is required to identify you in rooms.
- Room data: Room names, descriptions, icons, and settings you create are stored in our database.
- Chat messages: Messages sent in rooms are temporarily stored on our server for the duration of the session. They are not permanently archived.
- Drawings: Drawing strokes are stored temporarily during a room session and cleared when the room is empty.
- Analytics: We use Rybbit and TruConversion to understand how people use Perchi. These services may collect anonymized usage data, page views, and interaction patterns.
What we do NOT collect
- Voice and video: Audio and video streams are transmitted directly between participants (peer-to-peer via WebRTC). We never record, store, or process your voice or video on our servers.
- Payment data: Payment processing is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store credit card numbers or billing details.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens) and analytics cookies from third-party services (Rybbit, TruConversion). You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
Data storage
Your account data is stored in a Turso (LibSQL) database. The database is hosted in the United States. Room session data (chat, drawings) is ephemeral and handled by our PartyKit servers.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, rooms you own, favorites, friendships, push subscriptions, and avatar are removed. Your display name is stripped from any cards, notes, or activity entries in rooms you participated in but did not own; the content of those entries stays with the room owner.
You can also request deletion by email if you can't sign in — contact details below. Under the GDPR (EU/UK users) and CCPA (California residents), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data.
Third-party services
- Google OAuth: Used for sign-in. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Giphy: GIF search in chat. Subject to Giphy's privacy policy.
- Lemon Squeezy: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Subject to their privacy policy.
- Railway: Application hosting.
- PartyKit: Real-time room infrastructure.
Terms of Service
By using Perchi, you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Perchi to:
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Share illegal, harmful, or explicit content
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools to spam or disrupt the service
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
User content
You are responsible for content you share in rooms (chat messages, drawings, images, GIFs). We do not monitor room content in real time but reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Service availability
Perchi is provided "as is". We do our best to keep the service running but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
Account termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time.
Subscriptions
Pro subscriptions are billed through Lemon Squeezy. Refunds are handled according to Lemon Squeezy's refund policy. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
Disclaimer
Perchi is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Voice and video communications are transmitted peer-to-peer and are not encrypted end-to-end by Perchi — they rely on WebRTC's built-in DTLS-SRTP encryption between peers.
In no event shall Perchi or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the service.
